Fresh Talent – The Fashion Design Studio Show

Expectations before a runway show are as varied as the perspective of the observer. Whether it be as a fashion expert, a consumer or event reporter; it also differs from what we might personally like to what we consider is runway worthy. To please markets and critics alike while remaining true to themselves and proposing a new aesthetic path are challenges for every designer in the competetive fashion industry; no wonder why innovation is often skipped even at the so called major fashion weeks where most collections seem to stick to safe and mainstream efforts to keep things commercial and wearable. Debate is open and while we dress up for the everyday requirement, fashion is in constant evolution, the new talent and their proposals offer a fresh outlook for those avid fans of novelty… such an example of that was the recent graduate runway show from the Fashion Design Studio (Tafe)

The designs seen on the runway synchronized practicality, aesthetic and innovation, shining with their versatility and edgy allure without excess. Many of the collections stood out with a remarkable handling of fabric, others mesmerized the audience with a sense of effortless sophistication; The urban factor of course was not be missed featuring minimalism, sporty chic, and bold aesthetics. Yes it was definitely a show that met expectations with something for every taste. Here are some images to describe the evening…enjoy!
