Trend Alert – Pop of Red
What’s life without color? Everyday life has color, vibrant saturated color that doesn’t always match our pretentiously curated insta-grids. In a world everyday more influenced by the digital scene, color code is taken seriously, so seriously that if there was something most style bloggers seemed to fear til not so long ago, was precisely color, back to when the Insta trend was all about neutrals and black and white themed grids. Why do I quote this intro – you may ask, well it is funny to see how what’s digitally trending specially in certain social app eventually is taken as a convention in real life context.
Thankfully for us color lovers, a game changer trend has popped up and has everyone seeing red for the good reasons – As a fan of this color I couldn’t be more excited – yes, lots of red for me please! But let’s put aside the digital fever, and let’s focus on the actual fact, Red ( in the right tone of course) suits everyone and if you are looking for excuses to go a bit extra, then girls, this is the moment!
About the trend – Sure Pantone proposed Purple as the color of the year, but the runway and street style tell another story – Red claims the spotlight as the absolute winner this season with several designers proposing it in bold and generous fashion. However, if red is too dominant for you, try a captivating pop of color effect: I personally love how two items in the same tone can brighten up a basic outfit and turning it into a street style hit, think simple red complements such as a beret and belt matching your tee logo, voilà – red is popping up!
About this look I think of Jackets as our urban armors, and it occurred to me that if there was something red I could use unapologetically, over and over again then it had to be a red biker jacket. Then I had this gorgeous wrap dress and thought I’d would look edgy by adding the jacket and sock boots in matching tone. Ps, I’m aware everything in this outfit is a stand out, but hey, having Melbourne Fashion Festival as excuse made it appropriate, don’t you think?
