In a world saturated with over exposed brands, true luxury takes the form of mystery; if you’re a lover of designer bags add this label to your radar if you haven’t heard of it yet! A few days ago I had the opportunity to attend the press showings of Lancel Paris, to view their fall winter 19 collection, needless to say my expectations about this french label were exceeded.
Forget about the usual buzzed about hand bag brands -Lancel Paris isn’t your average common knowledge name and might not ring a bell for most bag connoisseurs out there, after all Lancel Paris has remained a niche luxury brand, so niche that it was exclusive to their devoted Parisian clientele til not so long ago.
Never given to excess, Lancel is the clear example of an established name built through time and consistent evolution, revealing its collections over time, beyond seasons, offering a more authentic, more confident relationship to luxury.
About The Maison Lancel
This French luxury leather goods company, has a family success story that began in 1876 when Alphonse and Angéle Lancel opened a smoking accessory shop in Paris. The company manufactured pipes before expanding into leather goods and handbags. At the end of the 1880s, being cigarettes popular especially among women, Lancel developed a whole range of products for women smokers such as cigarette cases and purses. From 1883, the company opened a leather workshop and began making handbags in line with demand. Angèle Lancel designed bags to keep smoking items organized. She replaced almoner’s pouches with handbags. But it wasn’t until their son Albert took the company’s reins in 1901 and transformed the modest company into a global brand placing the handbag at the core of the company’s strategy.
Over the years, the French maison has specialized in bags, luggage and luxury leather goods, Making a strong statement of optimism, happiness and pleasure through our color ranges and materials.
Now this heritage brand is expanding its horizons with a soon to open first retail boutique in Australia early September 2019. With Parisian DNA but made in Italy, Lancel Paris is all about excelling craftsmanship and innovative designs with contemporary appeal – aside from some of the signature designs of the house, some of the latest styles stood out too. I loved the structured designs but there was something for every need and taste. Each style embodies Parisian Chic!
As a fan of structured styles, I immediately felt drawn to the Ninon model, in all sizes and colours, but this yellow one in particular was a stand out to me!
But the Romane’s delicate and feminine shape is also an alluring style!
