What I wore – MBFWA Style Wrap Up

Dressing up is big part of the fun during fashion week, I love to see different expressions of style, whether it is bold, exotic or simply fun in those attending the shows, but I have to admit this year I didn’t invest much energy towards a calculated or “Look at me” outfit, in order to catch the attention of street style hunters ( although what’s flashy or not can be subjective) and rather  followed my natural style impulses with  simple and smart staples but not less appropriated, or something dressy and festive but never over the top, nothing more or less that what I’d wear for regular events in town, so, these were a few of my choices for MBFWA18

Look 1

80’s revival ( a not so passing trend when it comes to blazers IMO ), one of the most iconic staples from those days, were undoubtedly blazers with wide and accentuated shoulders. Now we see the rise of this staple with a modern take and it isn’t hard to see why millennials seem to have fallen in love with it.  So when I saw this Camila & Marc blazer I knew it was my next wardrobe addition, perfect for a special occasion such as Fashion Week  and easy to wear and mix with other garments. Now for the bottom part, I thought khaki green was a good complement for my off white jacket, –  so these pants with a wide and high rise style worked wonderfully evoking that 80’s allure. White boots were just coincidence but they seem to make the blazer stand out even more!

DAY 2

A bit of romance – Not my usual street style formula, compared to other years ( separates, jackets, statement coats etc ) but given that We are Kindred was one of the scheduled shows for day two,  it was good idea to make an entrance in one of its models, after all, I do love a nice ruffled pink dress – paired with a denim jacket to dress it down and for the cold afternoon ahead.

Day 3

One can’t go wrong with Zimmermann – For a few days I had my eyes on this beautiful gown featuring a delicate silhouette,  long sleeves, ruffles (again) and yellow floral print, – dressy but effortless, just what I needed for a long day of shows;  thankfully I partnered with  MyRunway – designer rental, and this superb number was in their collection, I love the fact we can now enjoy designer fashion when we most need it, without the guilt – ain’t that smart?

Thanks for your visit!
