Eight Instaworthy Places to Brunch, Lunch & Dine in Sydney
In addition to looking for that perfect place to catch up with friends or family, a certain feel and aesthetic are always in mind when it comes to having a bite outside – and I know I’m not alone, right? I love to feel transported and get something else to take with me beyond the flavours, (and the bill), something memorable, or at least an Instaworthy snap to remind myself “oh I’ve been there”. Although Sydney is blessed with excellent water views and vibrant hubs everywhere, there is always a new darling in town, we don’t want to miss out on a hidden gem we haven’t visited yet, so I thought I’d share with you another round of my favorite Instaworthy cafes and restaurants in town.
Botanica Vaucluse
An indulging mix of chic interiors with a relaxed feel. What can I say, you have to see it for yourself, but if you want a glimpse this oasis like hub is also a pink lovers paradise, the lighting and botanic accents are Instagram worthy! But it doesn’t end there, if you’re looking for healthy options – this place’s menu is mostly sourced from its own garden, – recommended lunch options? Try the sweet potato gnocchi with pesto and baby leeks, and the Pan Roasted Barramundi, Fennel, Green Apple, and Skordalia.

Cafe Parterre
A vivid french impression – Also an antique shop, this fancy hub fuses a shopping and gastronomic experience, but the cafe located in a courtyard behind the shop enhanced with rustic styling and a dash of decadent elements will immediately transport you to an old French province – there is even a glass house with a captivating chandelier, and a menu that makes you wanna stay for longer, – but hurry, last coffee is served at 3.00 pm
The Langham High Tea Room
Now we’re talking scenic, – The Langham’s Palm Court room has without a doubt one of the fanciest interiors in the city. Lavish furnishing and immaculate styling combined with a harmonious color theme promise a memorable experience, let’s not forget the High Tea itself – selected tea range, and champagne along with the finest sweets and savory treats, served on a Wedgwood china set, are oh so camera ready!
Cuppa Flower
What’s more grammable than flowers and colorful cakes? Cuppa Flower combines these irresistible factors for those in the hunt of visually pleasing captures. This is another small hub that’s worth the wait, (yes, it is so Insta-worthy people wait in line to get in) here I show you why, the food is not only delicious but heavenly presented; a florist and a cafe coexist in this sought after hub serving a neat and trendy menu in both Mascot and Waterloo. The food listing is short but makes up for it with beauty and dreamy sweet creations combining healthy options at a very friendly price. Note, to ensure a grammable spot avoid weekends or be willing to wait if you are on a Instagram mission. If not, just relax and enjoy the wonderful flavours – Cuppa Flower’s rainbow teas and ricotta waffles will leave you in a food coma!
Two Sisters
Also for grammable food enthusiasts, Two Sisters in Pyrmont is a cozy little cafe with a picturesque menu – brunch or lunch every plate brings with it a color filled symphony and delicious flavours. Common thoughts of those who visit are certainly “Food looks so pretty, it’s a shame having to eat it” no wonder it has become one of Sydney’s foodie instagrammers favorite hubs. Two Sisters might be small but it seems to tick all the boxes – Gluten free options, vegetarian and vegan options, all day breakfast, Outdoor Seating and Pet Friendly, what’s not to love?
Social Hideout Waterloo
I’ll be honest, a friend and I decided to Visit this buzzed about hub in hopes of capturing the whimsical purple cascades and floral walls it is famous for; in fact we ended up in the Parramatta store, which don’t get me wrong – has a beautiful atmosphere and open space, just not the floral and color profusion that the one in Waterloo has – Just in case, you’re warned. But if you live or happen to be in the area, Social Hideout Parramatta is worth the visit – the menu is equally delightful not to mention photogenic – Nothing beats that purple waffle cake right?
Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore
In the hip and trendy Paddignton area, a much needed meeting point with the arts – Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore is a different experience – nothing like immersing yourself in a vast and unexpected selection of books whilst sipping coffee or having a bite; with three inviting and intimate levels this Paddo gem is the ultimate retreat for the avid reader, and for those who want a to capture a interesting shot in its particularly appealing interiors and atmosphere. Plus enjoy a selection of sandwiches, pastas, salads and bakes!
Cafe Sydney
Last but not least, let’s talk city vibes – At the top of Custom’s House emblematic building awaits a chic rooftop with panoramic Sydney Harbour views. Sydney Cafe’s atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date, whilst enjoying modern Australian cuisine and cocktails, yet vibrant and cosmopolitan for drinks after work or a night out with friends !
