Pacific Runway Show

Fashion is in itself an art, it is supposed to amaze whether by providing something new or because it makes us look back with a new perspective. Last week I was thrilled to attend the  Pacific Runway Show, an annual event launched in 2012 by Founder and Director of K&D Management, Jannike Seiuli. As its name states Pacific Runway aims to be a platform for Pacific islander talent in the form of designers, makeup artists and stylists, celebrating not only fashion but the heritage and culture from that part of the world.

Carriageworks was again the epicenter where imagination and aesthetics roam free, and where designers from Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand showcased a loyal to their roots yet wearable vision of fashion. As many would expect, prints, bold colors, shells and other tropical references were present, but for those looking closely there was a striking point on trends and a smart fusion of typical and contemporary resources that were pleasant to the eye ..

The following images describe highlights of the evening with a selection of the most outstanding collections by designers ..enjoy!!!
