Autumn Staycation at The Hills Lodge Hotel & Spa

While most people plan their holidays and getaways around Summer, Autumn has its appeal for those who prefer a much quiet and uncrowded type of escape. As of late, there’s no better time or place to travel than in our own backyard,  so this time I’d like to share a few impressions from a recent stay at The Hills Lodge in Castle Hill.
This boutique hotel turned out quite a fine retreat – Nestled in the Hills region of Sydney, The Hills Lodge features a Classic Tudor style architecture surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, a heated swimming pool, day spa, a splendid restaurant with an extended outdoor area, and bar,  in other words, everything we needed for a recharging weekend Staycation!
First Impressions? The friendly welcoming service not only at the front desk but from everyone in service really sets the Hills Lodge apart – a kind face makes all the difference right? The atmosphere was really pleasant and although there was a function it didn’t disturb our stay during the first night.
Our room was pretty spacious, tidy and the furnishing was conveniently arranged including a lounge and desk with high-speed internet access; we found a reasonably sized closet, mini bar & refrigerator; a bathroom with marble floors, and frameless shower screens. Needless to say, everything was impressively clean.

Loved our welcome treat!

Regardless of the weather, the heated pool is there for you –  enjoy relaxing options such as poolside lounge chairs or table seating.

Nobles Restaurant & Bar

One of the leading a la carte restaurants in Castle Hill, Sydney. I was immediately charmed by the elegant and delightful atmosphere, with lots of natural light gracing the room. The layout’s chic setting makes it perfect for any occasion, from a romantic evening, special celebration, or casual dinner with friends; it is also a high tea destination on Saturdays. The menu caters to options with the season’s best produce.

For breakfast, I enjoyed delicious Benedict Eggs on Sourdough Toast with Smoked Salmon while hubby had the Bacon & Egg Roll with BBQ Sauce + Hash Brown – everything was on point! Luckily we found a table facing the fireplace, which made our time there more amusing. Ps, the menu has gluten-free options as well for those with this dietary concern.

For a drink, you can stop by the hotel’s own lounge bar.

Ambiance

One thing I really loved, was the natural light you can enjoy and the comfort the common areas provide, as well as the numerous courtyards for breaks. Additionally the immaculate and inviting decor setting with an elegant yet homey flair will make you wanna stay there for longer. Although the furnishing is comprised of classic and contemporary pieces, some antique elements add special character to this place.

Notes of Interest….

  • A favoured destination for conferences, meetings, and events
  • Beautifully landscaped gardens
  • Wellness treat at the spa
  • Plenty of on-site parking

What a lovely retreat to come back to!

Thanks for your visit!
